"Teaching children about the natural world should be seen as one of the most important events in their lives." Wendell Berry
Welcome to the We Sea Change Climate Curriculum Website. On this site you will find lessons and activities to help teach your students about the climate and the changes we are seeing. This site also offers actions your students can take to help offset the issue of climate change. This site is divided into several sections.
Support for the development of this curriculum was provided by the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher, Coastal America, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington's Environmental Studies Department, and the Mid-Atlantic Marine Educators Association. Please see the Credits page for more information on how these organizations supported this project.
- If you already know some of the basics about climate change, you can start with the Video and Curriculum.
- If you would like to brush up on your background, begin with the climate section.
- The Actions Page will help you and your students find actions that can help offset climate change.
- We have an Action Pledge where students can create their own personal pledge to take action.
- Under Video and Curriculum is a list of the North Carolina Standards for grades 5-12 that are covered by these lessons.
